During his appearances, deBronkart will address patient engagement from the patients perspective, and talk about the importance and value to both patients and physicians of patient engagement, opening up health data to patients, and empowering and equipping patients, the most underused resource in all of healthcare, to actively collaborate in their own care.

e-Patient Dave deBronkart was diagnosed in January 2007 with Stage IV, Grade 4 renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) at a very late stage. His median survival time at diagnosis was just 24 weeks. He received great treatment at Bostons Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, during which time he used the Internet to partner with his care team. By September 2007 it was clear hed beaten the disease.
