When I was dying of kidney cancer, Id never heard the term e-patient but I was one,” says Dave. “I used the internet every way I could, with my care team’s full support. e-Patient Dave deBronkart was diagnosed in January 2007 with Stage IV, Grade 4 renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) at a very late stage. His median survival time at diagnosis was just 24 weeks. He received great treatment at Bostons Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, during which time he used the Internet to partner with his care team. By September 2007 it was clear hed beaten the disease.
